Effective: April 23, 2026
Find Your Photo is a local iOS app for keeping a daily photo journal. The developer does not collect, store, share, or sell any of your personal data. This policy explains what the app accesses on your device and what happens to that data — which is: nothing leaves your phone.
Your photo library. The app asks for permission to access your Photos library so you can pick a favorite photo each day. You can grant Full Access, Limited Access (pick specific photos), or deny access entirely. When you choose a photo as your “pick of the day,” the app saves only a local reference (a Photos-provided identifier) to remember which photo you picked. The photo itself stays in your Photos library — we don’t copy it, upload it, or send it anywhere.
Location data embedded in photos. When viewing an individual picked photo, the app may read the GPS coordinates stored in that photo’s metadata (if the photo was taken with location services on) and use Apple’s MapKit framework on your device to look up a city name (e.g., “Tempe, AZ”). This lookup happens on-device using Apple’s system services. Coordinates and looked-up city names are never transmitted to the developer or any third party.
Text you write. Titles, monthly recaps, album names, and trip labels you type in the app are stored locally on your device using iOS’s standard preferences storage. They never leave your device.
Uploaded photos. If you use the “Upload from Files” feature to import a photo from outside your Photos library (e.g. from an SD card), the image is saved into your Photos library using Apple’s PhotoKit. It’s then treated the same as any other photo on your device.
All your data (picks, titles, trip labels, recaps, preferences) is stored locally on your iPhone. There is no cloud backup or server copy. Uninstalling the app permanently deletes all data the app has stored. You can also reset individual preferences within the app’s Settings tab at any time.
The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any data from any user, including children. Because the app does not collect any data, this privacy policy applies equally regardless of the user’s age.
The app uses only Apple’s built-in frameworks (SwiftUI, PhotoKit, MapKit). It does not integrate with any third-party advertising networks, analytics services, or cloud storage providers.
If this policy is updated, the revised version will be published at this URL with a new Effective date. Because the app collects no data, changes are unlikely except to clarify existing language.
